Who we protect

UNHCR Kenya protects people forced to flee conflict and persecution, as well as those denied a nationality. We are there for refugees, asylum seekers and stateless people in Kenya.

Seeking asylum is a human right. Anyone fleeing persecution, conflict or human rights abuses has a right to seek protection in Kenya.

UNHCR works to ensure that this right is upheld

UNHCR Kenya provides life-saving support and safe-guards the rights of asylum-seekers, refugees and stateless people. primarily helps refugees and asylum seekers, with a focus on children, the elderly and disabled persons, but also returnees, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and stateless persons.
