Observations from UNHCR on Icelandic law amendments

22.11.2022

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has submitted our observations to Iceland’s amendments to the Act on Foreigners.

The amendments are introducing a number of modifications in the procedures for repeated applications for international protection, asylum processing and family reunification, and UNHCR is in its observations providing a number of concrete recommendations to Iceland’s authorities and decision-makers.

UNHCR’s observations are available in full here.
