UN Global Auction and Disposal Services
UN Global Auction and Disposal Services
UNGDS helps organizations plan, sell, document and close surplus-asset disposals through public, online, sealed-bid and hybrid sales – maximizing cost recovery, reducing workload and supporting transparent, auditable disposal.
Why UN organizations use UNGDS
The UN system manages a large global asset base, including a combined fleet of around 30,000 light vehicles. Disposing of these assets requires market knowledge, transparent procedures, documentation control, buyer management, payment follow-up and timely closure.
UNGDS provides a mature, standardized, and ready-to-use disposal service for UN organizations and humanitarian partners. By using one shared disposal model, organizations avoid duplicating local disposal capacity, reduce operational burden, improve transparency, and recover value that can be redirected to programmes.
Our services have been recognized under the UN Efficiency Agenda and are listed by the Business Operations Strategy (BOS) as a High-impact common Service and a prioritized global shared service for the UN system.
How we deliver our services
When vehicles and other assets are no longer needed or reach the end of their operational life, UNGDS supports the full disposal process: from disposal strategy and sales-channel selection to auction execution, asset insurance, bid management, payment collection, asset release and documentation closure.
Depending on the country context, asset type, market conditions and operational risk, UNGDS can support public auctions, online auctions, sealed-bid sales, hybrid auctions or auctioneer-supported disposals through a global network of disposal experts as well as contracted auctioneers in over 70+ countries.
Our offering covers:
