Media – UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award 2025

Martin Azia Sodea, a visionary leader from Cameroon who has touched thousands of lives with his humanity and generosity, is the 2025 UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award global laureate.

Four regional winners – working in Mexico, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Iraq – have also been named.

Given annually since 1954, the award recognizes extraordinary individuals, groups and organizations who have gone above and beyond to find sustainable solutions for refugees, internally displaced people and those who are stateless.
