United States. Cheesecake business offers refugees hope away from home in Chicago

The United States multi-country office in Washington maintains relationships on global, regional, and domestic refugee and statelessness issues with key government partners and counterparts, including the Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Justice. It also engages with relevant Congressional committees and staff as well as with US NGOs and other stakeholders by providing guidance and information on relevant standards and on the situation of refugees around the world.

Through its presence in the Bahamas, UNHCR supports the government in efforts to develop the national asylum system and strengthen emergency response preparedness.

The USA multi-country office covers activities in the United States of America and its territories (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and covers, without a presence, the Bahamas, Jamaica, the British Overseas Territories of Bermuda, Cayman Islands and Turks and Caicos Islands.
