UNHCR’s Representation for the Nordic and Baltic Countries covers Iceland, as well as Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The office is located in Stockholm and maintains liaison offices in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Iceland is a committed partner to UNHCR and has greatly increased its contributions to UNHCR over the years, supporting some of the most urgent global situations. UNHCR works with the government and civil society in implementing legal instruments related to asylum and statelessness, strengthening capacity in areas of asylum, reception and integration.
