Kwame Annom (Biishville)
Kwame Annom is a Ghanaian chef, entrepreneur and founder of Biishville. He was appointed a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador on 3 December 2020 and is a member of the LuQuLuQu campaign, using his culinary creativity and professional influence to raise awareness and funds for people forced to flee.
Kwame has participated in several fundraising initiatives tied to LuQuLuQu, including auctioning private chef services at the Greatest Gift concert in 2019, and hosting charity cooking events and auctions during safety walks and dinners in Ghana since 2018. He visited Ampain refugee camp, learning firsthand about UNHCR’s emergency relief, shelter and livelihood operations in Ghana.
In 2024, Kwame provided pro bono catering services to support the UNHCR AfriPolo Charity event held in Accra, Ghana – adding flavour and visibility to a private sector-led fundraiser for refugee support.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Kwame actively engaged in digital and live campaigns to support displaced families, making personal donations and encouraging others to contribute to UNHCR’s emergency response efforts. His advocacy blends culinary artistry, culture and compassion to uplift refugee voices and challenge narratives about African displacement.
