UNHCR and Mashael AlSulaiti Law Firm Sign MoU to Strengthen Legal Support in Qatar

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and Mashael AlSulaiti Law Firm have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in support of refugees, asylum-seekers, and others in need of protection.
The MoU was signed in Doha by Ahmed Mohsen, UNHCR Representative to the State of Qatar, and Mashael M. Alsulaiti, Founder and Chairperson of Mashael AlSulaiti Law Firm.
Through this partnership, both parties will collaborate to promote human rights values through advocacy, public awareness, and the mutual exchange of information, expertise, and knowledge in areas of common interest. This will include the provision of pro bono legal support, legal research, strategic advice, as well as the organization of joint events and engagements.
On this occasion, Ahmed Mohsen, lauded the collaboration with Mashael AlSulaiti Law Firm and said: “This MoU marks an important step in strengthening partnerships that place protection, dignity, and human rights at the center of our collective efforts in responding to global displacement challenges. By joining forces with Mashael AlSulaiti Law Firm, we are bridging humanitarian action with legal expertise to enhance access to protection for refugees and asylum-seekers.”
On her part, Mashael M. Alsulaiti, stated: “We are proud to partner with UNHCR in advancing our shared commitment to protection and human rights value to assist forcibly displaced families. This MoU reflects our belief that legal expertise has a vital role to play in supporting those forced to flee and need international protection. Through this collaboration, we aim to contribute to greater awareness on the plights of refugees, enhanced legal frameworks, and meaningful action to support UNHCR’s programmes.”
By combining legal expertise with humanitarian action, the collaboration aims to improve access to protection and uphold the rights and dignity of people forced to flee due to conflict, persecution, and violence.
