UNHCR and partners host the third Ramadan Table for Refugees as part of the Ramadan and Zakat Campaign

Bangkok – UNHCR Thailand, in collaboration with the Office of Sheikhul Islam of Thailand and Islamic Bank of Thailand, organized the third Ramadan Table as part of the ninth Ramadan and Zakat Campaign. The annual initiative brings communities together during the holy Month of Ramadan to support refugees and displaced families worldwide.

On Saturday, 7 March 2026, at Emaratuddeen Mosque, the event was presided over by Professor Arun Boonchom, Sheikhul Islam of Thailand, Ms. Tammi Sharpe, UNHCR Representative in Thailand, and Dr. Thaweelap Rittapirom, Director and President of the Islamic Bank of Thailand. They delivered welcoming remarks and expressed their gratitude to partners and distinguished guests for their continued support in making the Ramadan Table for Refugees possible for the third consecutive year.

On this occasion, Mr. Worrapoj Waiyaveta, Director of the Institute of Islamic Art Thailand, donated one of his artworks for a charity auction at the event.

The event concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Dumrong Poottan, who thanked the distinguished guests and partners for their continued support
