29th session of the Refugee Coordination Forum held in Minsk
On 16 June 2026, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office in Belarus and the Department for Citizenship and Migration (DCM) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MOI) of Belarus convened the 29th session of the Refugee Coordination Forum at the International Training Centre (ITC) of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Minsk.
The meeting brought together representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MOI), the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Belarus, UN agencies including the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), as well as representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
In addition to reviewing key developments and challenges related to the situation of Ukrainian refugees in Belarus, the meeting also commemorated World Refugee Day (20 June) and marked the forthcoming 75th anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees.
