UNHCR conducts a visit to Brest region

On 17–18 June 2026, UNHCR in Belarus, led by Representative Mr Arman Harutyunyan, together with the State Border Committee of Belarus, conducted a joint mission to the Brest region.

The visit provided an opportunity to familiarize participants with the current situation at the Belarus-Poland border, see a border crossing point, as well as exchange views on recent developments affecting access to the asylum procedure, and reinforce practical communication and cooperation with the border guard authorities.

The mission also took place within the broader framework of ongoing engagement between UNHCR and the State Border Committee, aimed at maintaining coordination on protection-related matters.
