The World Refugee Day statement was read out by UNHCR staff in the seven camps for Bhutanese refugees.

Cultural programmes, football competitions and sports competitions for disabled children, a debate among students and a drama on this year's Word Refugee Day theme were organised in the seven camps.

On 19 June, there was an exhibition of products made by Bhutanese refugees in Nepal's Red Cross Society Hall refugee camps in Damak and Jhapa district.

On 20 June, an interview with the UNHCR Representative was published in a local daily newspaper. Another interview by the UNHCR Representative about the role of UNHCR in finding solutions for Bhutanese refugees was telecast on local TV channel.

On 21 June, a magic show for the children was held and several UNHCR documentaries were screened. A Tibetan film, "Caravan", was also shown.

On 20 and 23 June, a special radio programme on World Refugee Day was broadcast by a local radio station.
