Cross-regional forum on implementing laws and policies on internal displacement 2025: final report

The cross-regional forum, co-organized by UNHCR and the Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons, in collaboration with the IDP Protection Expert Group and the International Institute of Humanitarian Law, explored how national laws and policies connect with local implementation practices for effective prevention and response to internal displacement. Bringing together local and subnational government representatives from nine countries, the forum served as a platform for peer-to-peer exchanges on best practices and municipal strategies devoted to developing durable solutions to protracted displacement challenges while advancing inclusive urban development.
