Natasha Al-Hariri

Women’s rights advocate

01.11.2016

Natasha Al-Hariri is a Danish public debater with a Palestinian background. Natasha’s parents are Palestinian refugees, and she was born while her parents were fleeing from the civil war in Lebanon. Natasha Al-Hariri is a lawyer and has been involved in the public debate on integration and gender equality.

She works for the organisation Medborgerne, and is a member of the Council for Ethnic Minorities and a board member in the organisation Refugees Welcome. In 2015, she made the short TV-documentary ‘Hallo, Syrien! Opkald fra Flugtruten’, which was shown on Danish Broadcasting Cooperation in the start of 2016. She has also been part of the 2010 documentary ‘Four Muslim voices’ about four Muslim women who have ambitious goals in life. The documentary was screened by Danish cinemas. At a young age, Natasha Al-Hariri declared herself a feminist fighting for gender equality. The newspaper Berlingske has called her one of the strongest voices in this debate.
