UNHCR's first cyber-show will take place 14 December at 9 p.m. Geneva time (2000 hrs GMT). In cooperation with Akamai Technologies, the refugee agency is to webcast its 50th anniversary concert, 'Refugee Voices,' on its dedicated website. The event will feature the creativity and talent of refugees, including Geoffrey Oryema and the Burundi Drummers; Keinaan and Rasha and a special band and chorus of refugees. Singer and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Arje Saijonmaa will also perform. Senegal's Youssou N'Dour will launch a special Refugee Education Trust for secondary school-age refugee children. The Geneva programme will also feature the launching of a public awareness campaign, RESPECT. The campaign features prominent refugees, including Madeleine Albright, writer Isabel Allende and supermodel Alek Wek.
