Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie's mission in West Darfur

UNHCR's Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie is currently in West Darfur on a three-day mission to see for herself the situation of the hundreds of thousands of internally displaced people (IDPs), uprooted by the conflict. Ms Jolie arrived in El Geneina on Monday and visited a women's centre at Ardamata IDP camp, run by UNHCR's implementing partner Save the Children.

Today, she's scheduled to visit other camps in the region. On Wednesday, Ms Jolie will hold a press conference at UNHCR in Khartoum at 16:30 hrs where she will speak about her impressions of the situation. Ms Jolie visited UNHCR's refugee camps in Chad in June this year.
