Poland
Poland became one of the top refugee hosting countries in Europe following the full-scale war in Ukraine.
Since 1992, UNHCR supports the Government of Poland to ensure refugees and asylum-seekers have access to territory, legal status and documentation and rights. UNHCR works with national and local authorities, NGOs, refugee-led organizations, private sector organizations, the media and forcibly displaced people themselves to promote and uphold the protection and inclusion of refugees.
In support of the Government’s refugee response, UNHCR coordinates over 100 organizations under the Ukraine Situation Regional Refugee Response Plan (RRP) chapter for Poland, the majority of which are local.
