- An Award Ceremony for the Students who excelled in the 2005 Annual Essay Contest all over the country will be organized at the Foundation of the Hellenic World on 20 June. The Minister of Education, the General Secretary for Youth and other personalities from the field of education and culture will be invited to participate.
- UNHCR is organizing, in association with the Youth Awareness Committee, the 12th National Student Essay Contest on the theme "Hope".
- In co-operation with the Athens Municipality and Attiko Metro SA, World Refugee Day posters will be displayed on 40 central bus shelters and on all Metro stations around the capital.
- UNHCR will participate in a "Public Awareness Week" organized on the eastern Aegean island of Mytilini (main entry point) from 16 to 23 June. Activities will include: a two-day forum where UNHCR will participate as key speaker, a photo exhibition on Afghanistan, a fashion show by a well-known Afghan designer and various public awareness activities to sensitize the local community with the distribution of UNHCR visibility/information material, the erection of UNHCR posters around the island and the display of videos/spots on UNHCR and refugees on a video-wall placed at the island's central square.
