- A TV and radio broadcast by the Minister of Home Affairs on the state of refugees will be aired throughout the country. The speech will be prepared by UNHCR to highlight challenges in the refugee programme. The positive contribution of refugees to the local economy will also be highlighted. The World Refugee Day spot will be shown on 20 June.
- Main event in Lusaka, in association with the government, will include a variety of activities and cultural performances by the refugees.
- As a way of increasing awareness about refugees, the office will organize TV and radio programmes with Zambia's first Republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda during the week preceding World Refugee Day.
- An exhibition of refugee handicrafts in Lusaka and other towns will be organized by the refugee community.
