In cooperation with various stakeholders including, central and local institutions, municipalities, civil society, refugees, and community representatives, UNHCR Türkiye supports initiatives that promote social cohesion, address risks of social tensions, and encourage mutual dialogue across communities. These efforts complement broader protection programming, contributing to the development of policies that reflect the needs of both refugees and host communities.

To guide its programming, UNHCR continues to rely on evidence-based analysis to better understand community dynamics and inform its interventions. Among these have been participatory assessments and consultative meetings held with refugees, host community members and service providers, as well as the Syrians Barometer – a comprehensive study supported by UNHCR since 2017 that tracks the evolving perceptions and experiences of Syrians and host community members in Türkiye.
