In Gabon, UNHCR continues to support a conducive protection environment where refugees and asylum-seekers - including those from Sudan and Niger - benefit from access to asylum procedures, freedom of movement, and essential services such as health care, education, and employment.

Notable strides in socio-economic inclusion were made through vocational training, job placements, and partnerships with incubators, while improvements in education access reflect a growing national commitment to refugee integration. Despite limited resettlement or voluntary return options, refugees in Gabon are increasingly empowered to rebuild their lives with dignity and opportunity.

Operations and programmes in Gabon are covered by the UNHCR Multi-Country Office in Cameroon, providing support to refugees, asylum seekers, and other forcibly displaced people also in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and São Tomé and Príncipe.
