The UNHCR’s Representation in the Netherlands, based in The Hague and part of the regional office in Brussels, works to ensure access to protection, support resettlement efforts, and foster public support for refugees through policy engagement, advocacy, and fundraising.

Together with the UNHCR Representation for EU Affairs, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, we collaborate with the EU to strengthen refugee protection both within Europe and globally. This includes promoting alignment of EU laws and policies with the 1951 Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol, and advocating for sustained support to regions hosting the majority of the world’s forcibly displaced.
