Preparatory meetings and briefings in 2026
Fourth quarterly preparatory meeting for the Global Refugee Forum Progress Review 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland. Attendees included representatives of UN member States, non-member observer States, intergovernmental organizations, UN partners, non-governmental organizations and civil society.
In 2026, two informal briefings will provide key platforms for pledging entities to outline their plans for pledge follow-up and implementation.
- The first informal briefing on the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) will include:
- the launch of the outcome document of the Global Refugee Forum Progress Review 2025
- a discussion on the way forward to the Global Refugee Forum 2027, including plans related to the 75th anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention.
- The second informal briefing on the GCR will share information on:
- preparations for the High Commissioner’s Dialogue
- continued pledge follow‑up
- the development of the roadmap towards the Global Refugee Forum 2027.

Report capturing the engagement and contributions of forcibly displaced and stateless persons in the GRF Progress Review 2025. It examines how meaningful refugee participation has evolved, and proposes a pathway to further cement this within the GCR process.
