She has health issues, a disability which it makes it hard to walk, and shoulders the sole responsibility of her four children since their father died, all the while living in a tented shelter far away from her home facing uncertainty and hunger on a daily basis. Despite everything, Fattoum is resilient and endlessly devoted to her children, even opening a small shop in her tent to try to improve their situation.

Displaced Yemeni
More than six years of conflict in Yemen has led to the internal displacement of over 4 million people, while multiple crises, including the pandemic, have led to 9.6 million people becoming at risk of famine. Over HK$205 million in Zakat funds were distributed to internal displaced people, providing 651,425 individuals with much-needed cash assistance to meet their shelter and daily needs. Cash assistance is distributed through two commercial banks and can be received through more than 500 cash financial service points throughout the country.
In addition, Sadaqah donations amounted up to HK$15.5 million to keep internally displaced families safe from COVID-19 and ensure their daily needs are met.
