7 December 2020 Also available in:

UNHCR's Representation for the Nordic and Baltic Countries has submitted its observations to the Swedish government on the proposed legislative amendments that have been presented in the report "A sustainable long-term migration policy – A report by the Cross-party Committee of Inquiry on Migration”.

This report will form the foundation for a law proposal, planned to be presented to Sweden's Parliament in the Spring 2021.

In the observations, UNHCR is particularly providing comments in the areas of duration of residence permits and renewals; access to family reunification for refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection; as well as the situation for children born stateless in Sweden.

UNHCR's observations are available on Refworld.
