UNHCR Submission for Denmark’s Universal Periodic Review

UNHCR’s submission for the 52nd session of Denmark’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is now available on Refworld here.

The submission highlights key developments and ongoing challenges in ensuring the protection of refugees, asylum-seekers, and stateless persons in Denmark. It includes recommendations to address the temporariness of protection and regular status reviews, ensure respect for the right to family reunification, strengthen efforts to prevent and reduce statelessness, safeguard access to territory and the principle of non-refoulement, and promote responsible public discourse and political leadership on refugee and migration issues.

The UPR session takes place in May 2026.
