RMS data collection modality

Last updated:

Once the decision to collect primary data is made, the data collection modality needs to be defined. It is often pre-determined depending on each individual operation’s characteristics such as concentration of population to be surveyed, access, availability of phone numbers and, above all, scope and size of the survey, and may usually include face-to face and/or phone survey data collection. Developed for the Results Monitoring Surveys (RMS), the RMS data collection modality guidance provides an overview of these data collection modality considerations.

In case you plan to implement a phone-based survey, please read this short note

UNHCR colleagues can access the RMS intranet page to find additional resources and learn more about the RMS.
