Outlining the workplan

Last updated:

The assessment workplan is a document that summarises the key steps of the assessment exercise, estimated timeframes for completion, and focal points for each described task.

The assessment workplan is a flexible template designed to assist in planning an assessment exercise. It outlines the phases of the assessment and provides details about the associated outputs, activities, and main tasks. The template can be customized to suit the specific needs of the operation. For more comprehensive planning, additional tasks can be added to each activity, or more activities can be included for each phase. The template includes two columns for assigning a focal point responsible for each activity and the main colleagues who will support the task.

Key Points to Consider:

1. Set Realistic Deadlines: Ensure that the work plan establishes achievable deadlines for each phase and task.
2. Expect the Unexpected: Keep in mind that unexpected events may occur during the exercise, so build flexibility into the plan.
3. Collaboration is Essential: Always develop the work plan in close collaboration with the partners involved in the assessment exercise.
