This Mother's Day, support refugee mothers
“I want them to have a beautiful life. To make everything available for them, but it’s hard to do that now.”
– Walaa from Dara’a, Southern Syria
Refugee mothers are no difference from other mothers, to protect, to provide, to care for their children. Motherhood is hard, and it is harder for refugee mothers, because they lack resources.
Refugee mothers are struggling: while at work, the kids need to be left alone at home, need to work to pay for shelter, kid’s education and more.
A little help can go a long way, this monthly program, just HK$12 a day, you can support a refugee mother to pay rent, buy food and other necessity for their children.
When you are sending love to your mother, share love and gift to support other mothers that are struggling. You can help every mother fulfill their hopes for their children.
From now until 15 May 2022, you can make a one-time donation of HK$2,500 or a monthly donation of HK$280 or more through UNHCR Mother’s Day donation page to support families in need. You can redeem a handcrafted item – Tribalogy handbag or Bawa Hope necklace, – crafted made by refugee mothers. (Style will be distributed randomly while stocks last.)
*The handcrafted ornament would be sent out by surface in 10 working days (overseas shipping is not covered). Please note that the mail will be subject to delay due to the arrangement of the post service affected by COVID-19. We seek for your understanding.

In Yemen, 40% of 135,000 refugees are women, many of them, like Jamila, are single mothers and the sole breadwinner of their families.
Despite all Fathia’s hardships, she has not lost hope.
But as the bitter conflict grinds on in Yemen, conditions have become increasingly tough for this mother of five.
Her jobless husband also cannot afford the expensive cancer treatment she needs.
UNHCR is supporting Fathia’s family through cash assistance and the provision of healthcare services. However, because of the conflict and destruction of almost 50% of the country’s health facilities in Yemen, Fathia struggles to get specialized cancer treatment.
