The number of Syrian refugees fleeing their country has increased dramatically since the beginning of the year. As of 24 July more than 1.8 million refugees were registered or pending registration in Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt and the rest of North Africa.
They arrive traumatized, without possessions and having lost members of their families. Around half of the refugees are children, the majority under the age of eleven.
Your donations can help providing the essential assistance including tents, blankets, plastic sheetings and cooking sets to these vulnerable people.
' While I was there, I met so many people affected by war and conflicts. They were living in panic, vulnerable and lack of basic necessities. As winter approaches, the harsh weather will make lives more difficult, please join me to support UNHCR, in providing urgent humanitarian assistance to the displaced refugees.'

Syria – More than 1.1 million refugees are seeking asylum in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. Fleeing conflicts, the trauma of war remains for longer than physical harm: psychosocial counselling is urgently needed.
Civilians suffer in every single civil war; whatever the causes. Once they decide to flee, they face the hurdles of getting used to an unfamiliar place, learning a new language, understanding a different culture. The majority of refugee camps are close to the borders, where accessibility and resources are limited. The future becomes unpredictable for refugees who feel anxious and miserable. They wonder if there is any hope and ask, “Does anyone see us?’
