Final evaluation of the project “Improving the self-sufficiency and resilience of refugees and migrants from Venezuela and host communities in Colombia through labour market integration” (in Spanish)

EvO/2025/05

The evaluation reviews UNHCR’s 2024 project “Enhancing self-reliance and resilience of Venezuelan refugees, migrants, and host communities in Colombia through labour market integration,” funded by the Government of the Generalitat Valenciana. Implemented in the regions of Antioquia, Córdoba, Chocó, and the Eje Cafetero, the project effectively combined psychosocial, legal, and livelihoods support, reaching over 4,000 participants. It achieved notable gains in employability, entrepreneurship, and quality of life, especially for women, with 92% of supported businesses still active by early 2025. Success was driven by experienced teams and strong partnerships, though sustainability was constrained by irregular migration status, weak local labour markets, and limited post-project follow-up.
