An Afghan refugee realized her dream to become a photographer to capture heartfelt moments of life

1 September 2022

Roya always dreamt of becoming a photographer, but she did not have the means to pursue her passion. She invested whatever little savings she had to buy a second-hand camera and started mastering her artistic skills. “I want to capture the heartfelt moments of life and make them eternal,” says this 25-years old Afghan refugee photographer.

Iran provided her with an opportunity to pursue her dreams. These opportunities, such as access to education and skills trainings play a fundamental role in the process of supporting refugee youth to gain skills and strengthen their capacity to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Roya shared with us some of her favourite photos which she recently captured to document a day in the life of refugee workers at a brick kiln in Kerman.
