Selecting Participants for Qualitative Data Collection

This UNHCR guidance note provides key considerations to inform the selection of participants for qualitative data collection through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs). It applies to both standalone qualitative data collection exercises, including those traditionally applied to UNHCR participatory assessments, and mixed-methods approaches where qualitative data collection complements quantitative data.
