GET Results
GET Results is the second phase of UNHCR’s programme cycle and operationalizes the strategic vision set forth in the multi-year strategy. It takes place continuously throughout the strategy’s duration.
In this phase, operations prioritize resource-efficient actions to transform strategies into tangible outcomes, within the budget. The year before implementation, they create a strategy with partners and affected communities. The activities are then carried out directly or with partners and contractors. Progress is monitored to make evidence-based adjustments, as needed.
The annual planning, implementation and monitoring process encompasses the following key steps:
- Annual implementation planning: Allocate resources toward planned results, considering the context, the available budget, and available relevant data. Create an annual assessment, monitoring and evaluation workplan based on the strategy’s plan.
- Establishment of projects: Create projects with resources and results. Develop partnership workplans and contracts for implementation.
- Results monitoring and adjustments: Measure progress through data collection, and adjust priorities and resources based on monitoring findings.
- Implementation monitoring and project adjustment: Track project progress, address emerging issues, and amend agreements based on feedback.
- Emergency preparedness and response: Use contingency planning and coordination to prepare for emergencies. Respond to emergencies with critical interventions together with partners.
Under the leadership of the representative or the director, operations review continuously the progress of implementation and use the collected evidence to adjust its programmes and set priorities for the following year. They also ensure that forcibly displaced and stateless people are systematically informed on how their feedback was applied to improve and adjust implementation.
