UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi visited Stockholm, Sweden on 9 March 2022.

During the High Commissioner’s visit, he met with the Swedish Prime Minister, Magdalena Andersson, the Minister for Migration and Integration, Anders Ygeman, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ann Linde, and Minister for International Development Cooperation, Matilda Ernkrans.

He also had an exchange with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Swedish Parliament, led by Kenneth Forslund, and with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency SIDA.

Sweden is a strong and long-lasting partner to UNHCR, and Sweden is the top  donor of core flexible funding to UNHCR – the high level of unearmarked Swedish funding enables UNHCR to scale up and respond to both acute emergencies as well as underfunded crises across the world, with a specific focus on the gender dimension.
